While negotiating an offer from startup consider many factors e.g. 

1. Are founder ethical and honest

2. What fraction of stock they are giving to you

3. What is growth project

If they hype too much use reduction factor and your own projection.

If they are too far from reality- consider not joining (if you have other option)
